Critical design thinking Day 2

 

Once we had our ideas together we moved forward with the actual project.

How can we show our idea? How do we want to say it? How do we want to express our thinking?

Today it was all about fanzines: small sized magazines for fans of a specific interest.

Their subject matter is as varied as the passions of their creators and go from music, comics, typography, animal rights to politics and many others.

We started creating several thumbnails which are tests before starting to develop the final project. We asked ourselves: How we want the message be represented? Do we want it to be bold and loud or quiet and subtle?

After that, we started sketching for a single zine page,

 

and for a front and back cover:
